Requirements

To be eligible for the Northumbria UK International Scholarship, you must:

• Be an International student with ‘Overseas’ or 'EU' fee status
• Be currently studying one of the following qualifications within the UK, at a UK based institution:
  • A Level 6 Undergraduate Degree
• Be a self-funded student (not in receipt of any sponsorship)
• Be accepted and enrolled on a Full-Time Postgraduate Taught course at the Newcastle Upon Tyne campus, starting in September 2025 or January 2026 (**see exclusions below)
• Meet all individual course requirements

Exempt Courses

• Any Advanced Practice or Study Abroad Masters course
• Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration) MSc
• Nursing Science Registered Nurse (Adult) MSc
• Nursing Science Registered Nurse (Child) MSc
• Nursing Science Registered Nurse (Mental Health) MSc
• Nursing Science Registered Nurse (Learning Disabilities) MSc
• Midwifery Studies MSc
• Social Work MA
• Bar, Bar LLM, LLM Professional Legal Practice (SQE1)

How To Apply

• Apply for a Postgraduate Taught (PGT) Course

  • Submit your application for an eligible full-time PGT programme at Northumbria University’s Newcastle Upon Tyne campus starting in September 2025 or January 2026.

• Meet the Eligibility Requirements

  • Have ‘Overseas’ or ‘EU’ fee status

  • Be currently studying a Level 6 undergraduate degree at a UK-based institution

  • Be self-funded (not receiving any sponsorship)

  • Meet all course-specific entry requirements

  • Be accepted and enrolled on an eligible course (see excluded programmes below)

• Accept Your Offer and Enrol

  • Once you receive an offer, accept it and proceed with your enrolment.

• Receive the Scholarship Automatically

  • If you meet all the criteria, the £3,000 fee discount will be automatically applied to your tuition fees — no additional scholarship application is needed.
