2026 Cumbria Global Excellence PGT Merit Scholarships at University of Cumbria

The Cumbria Global Excellence PGT Merit Scholarships offers £5,000 towards tuition fees for eligible full-time taught master’s programmes at the University of Cumbria for the 2026/27 academic year. Scholarships are limited in number (up to 10 awards) and apply only to specific programmes taught at Ambleside, Carlisle (Brampton Road and Fusehill Street), and Lancaster campuses. Applicants must hold an offer for September 2026 entry, be self-funding with overseas fee status.

Direct applicants holding an offer for the following PGT programmes, taught on the Ambleside, Carlisle Brampton Road, Carlisle Fusehill and Lancaster campuses are invited to apply for the PGT Merit Scholarships:

• MSc International Management

• Master of Business Administration

• MBA Tourism and Visitor Economy Management

• MA Creative Practice

• MA Literature, Romanticism and the English Lake District

• MSc Psychology (all variants)

• MSc Conservation Management

• MSc Forest Science

• MA Outdoor and Experiential and Sustainability Education

The following postgraduate programmes are not eligible for the Cumbria Global Excellence PGT Merit Scholarships:

• All MSc programmes not listed above

• All MA programmes not listed above

• All PG Diploma Awards • All PG Certificate Awards

• All PGCE programmes

• All PG programmes delivered by distance or blended learning

• All PG programmes delivered in collaboration with an educational partner

Selection Process

Selection is competitive and based on academic performance, English proficiency, and a unique personal statement. Scholarships cannot be combined with other awards.
