The Brian Cooper Scholarship Fund will provide an annual scholarship to a local student in need of financial assistance. This scholarship is available thanks to a very generous donation by the family of Brian Cooper and will enable Durham University to award at least one £13,000 scholarship for several years.
This Scholarship complements the existing work that the University is undertaking to attract talented students from the region to study at Durham.
Durham University (legally the University of Durham) is a collegiate public research university in Durham, North East England, with a second campus in nearby Stockton-on-Tees. It was founded by an Act of Parliament in 1832 and granted a Royal Charter in 1837. It was one of the first universities to commence tuition in England for more than 600 years and claims to be the third oldest university in England (which would make it the seventh or eighth oldest in the UK), although this is disputed. 13,000 pounds per academic year which will contribute towards tuition fees, living costs, and other associated costs of study.
Submit an academic application to Durham University by the UCAS deadline of 31st January 2024 and a scholarship application by the deadline including a personal statement describing:
