Benefits

Scholarship worths £4,000 per academic  year 

Requirements

• A household income below £42,875 (as determined by Student Finance)
  and meet at least one of the following criteria

• Be the first generation in your immediate family to attend University

• Be from a background currently underrepresented in Computer Science

Preference will be given to applicants from the North East of England - defined as having a postcode beginning with DH, DL, NE, SR or TS.

Interview Dates and Process

• All eligible applications for the Durham Inspired Scholarship will be considered on the basis of their personal statement, reference and academic status
• Other scholarship awards may also be taken into account when considering the allocation of the scholarship
• The University may use additional datasets to identify applicants who come from neighbourhoods with low overall progression to higher education or high levels of socio-economic deprivation

Submit the following by the scholarship deadline of 15th April 2025

A completed scholarship application form 

Provide a copy of your Student Finance letter confirming the amount of maintenance loan you will receive to [email protected]   If you do not have this information by the scholarship deadline please provide it as soon as you receive it from Student Finance England.

Arrange for a reference in support of your scholarship application to be sent by email to [email protected].

Please ensure your referee submits the reference on letter headed paper which contains:

• Their name
• Position
• Contact details
• The name of the scholarship you have applied for
• Your full name
