Edwin Williams Scholarships at Bangor University 2026-2027

The School of Arts, Culture and Language is delighted to offer a limited number of scholarships to support students studying Drama, Theatre and Performance through the medium of Welsh.

The scholarships are funded through the generous bequest of Rene Myddleton Williams, widow of Edwin Williams (1918-2003), to honour his name and to promote the study and performance of drama and theatre studies through the medium of Welsh.

Benefits

The Edwin Williams Scholars will receive £5,000 each year of their degree (on a three-year programme).

Requirements

Eligible candidates must:

  • Have applied for and go on to enrol on one of the following BA degrees:
    • WW34 Music and Drama
    • P43W Film and Drama
    • QW34 English Literature and Drama
    • P31W Media and Drama
  • At a minimum take all available drama modules through the medium of Welsh.
  • Start your course at Bangor University in September 2026.
