The School of Physical Sciences at the Open University (OU) invites applications for a fully funded PhD studentship in quantum computing. This 3.5-year project offers access to cutting-edge research facilities at OU and the University of Strathclyde, with collaboration opportunities through the Oxford QCi3 Hub.
Annual stipend of £20,780 (2025/26 rate)
Full tuition coverage for home students
Research Training Support Grant
Potential for a 3-month extension (beyond 3 years and 3 months)
Applicants must meet UKRI academic eligibility requirements
Minimum of a 2:1 classification in a UK BSc or MSc degree
Home fee status required
Background in physics, quantum computing, or a related STEM field
Interviews will take place remotely shortly after the application deadline.
