Jim Duncan Scholarships at University of Aberdeen 2025

The Jim Duncan Scholarships were established in 2001 by a graduate and supporter of the University, to provide financial support to students who are returning to education after an extended break, or who are resuming their studies at the University of Aberdeen after an interruption in studies.

Benefits

Each scholarship is valued at £4,000 per annum for the duration of your degree.

Requirements

The Jim Duncan Scholarships are open to:

1. All applicants, regardless of fee status, applying to the University of Aberdeen for a full-time, undergraduate degree starting in September 2025 after having had a break in education of more than one year, or interruption in studies. Applicants must be in receipt of a conditional or unconditional offer of entry for September 2025.
2. Any full-time undergraduate students who is resuming their studies in September 2025 at the University of Aberdeen after an interruption of one or more years.

Applications from medical students would be particularly welcome.

The scholarships can only be held by students of the University – they cannot be transferred to another institution.

Selection Process

The scholarships will be awarded based on financial need and academic potential.
