Northumbria University Undergraduate Award for September 2026

This scholarship is for UK/Home students applying to study at Northumbria University on a Full-Time Undergraduate course in the academic year 2026/27.

Successful students will receive a total of £4,000, paid in instalments* throughout years one, two and three.  This additional support will help students focus on their studies and assist with budgeting.  All eligible self-funded students will be short listed and considered.

Requirements

Students who meet at least one of the three following characteristics will be considered;

• You live in a neighbourhood with a low progression rate to Higher Education.  Please use your main home address and not your term time address and use the Postcode Checker to check your neighbourhood progression rate**
• You are from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic?(BAME) background
• You have declared a physical and/or mental health condition, long-term illness, or learning difference on your UCAS form***

Submit an application no longer than 3000 characters (500 words) answering the question:

• How will this Award support your aspirations to succeed in Higher Education?
  • If you would like to submit your application via video you are able to do so via the 'file' function on the application form
