UEA 2025 International Postgraduate Merit Scholarship

Applications are now open for the UEA 2025 International Postgraduate Merit Scholarship. This scholarship is an automatic award for students paying overseas fees joining an eligible postgraduate programme at UEA in September 2025.

Benefits

This award is worth:

• £4,000 - if you achieve the equivalent of UK 2:2 bachelor’s degree classification
• £5,000 - if your final undergraduate grade is equivalent to at least UK 2:1 bachelor’s degree classification

Requirements

• You are an Overseas fee-paying student. If the fee status changes during your course, the scholarship will be removed and you will be invoiced for this amount.
• Scholarships do not remove the requirement to pay the International deposit, by the publicised deadline.
• Students sponsored for full tuition fees by an outside body or government organisation are not eligible for this scholarship. However, students applying for, or expecting to receive, government loans are eligible.
• This scholarship cannot be held in conjunction with another UEA scholarship (except specific partner institution scholarships, sport or music scholarships), but can be used in conjunction with an Early Payment Award.

Interview Dates and Process

• Except for the courses set out below, Scholarships may be offered by us in respect of full time, campus based, credit-bearing MSc, MA, MBA, MClinEd, PGCE, or LLM programmes studied at UEA, commencing in September 2025 or January/February 2026.
• They do not offer this scholarship for, MSc Occupational Therapy MSc Physiotherapy, MSc Plant Genetics and Crop Improvement or MSc Global Plant Health.
• Where a programme is more than one year in length, scholarship will be offered for the first year only.

International Postgraduate Merit Scholarship Award Process 

• If you meet the Eligibility Criteria, the fee discount of the International Postgraduate Merit Scholarship will be automatic. You do not need to make a separate application.
• The award shall be made as a tuition fee scholarship by means of a fee discount. No payment shall be made direct to the student. The amount of the scholarship is specified in your scholarship notification email.
• The scholarship is offered for a specified course; there is no guarantee that the scholarship will be transferred to an alternative course.
• If an offer holder defers their entry to a following year, then the scholarship award will be removed. The applicant may be considered again the following year, but any award cannot be guaranteed.
