The NextGen Innovator Scholarship recognises and supports ambitious international students who can demonstrate creativity, enterprise and the potential to develop new ideas that make a positive impact in their chosen industry, profession or community. Whether you are interested in launching a business, developing a new product or service, improving existing ways of working or using innovation to address real-world challenges, this scholarship is designed to help you take the next step in your studies at University College Birmingham. The scholarship is open to new international students starting a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programme at University College Birmingham.

Requirements

To apply for this scholarship, you must fulfil the following criteria:

• You must have received and accepted an offer to study on a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programme at University College Birmingham. Part-time courses, distance learning courses or other levels of study are not eligible.
• You must have overseas fee status and be paying overseas tuition fees. Home fee payers are not eligible.
• You must be able to demonstrate innovation, enterprise, creativity or problem-solving through your academic work, professional experience, extracurricular activities or future ambitions.
• This scholarship is available for students’ first year of study only.
• You must have paid at least £1,000 towards your deposit within 14 days of receiving your scholarship offer. Otherwise, the scholarship offer will be withdrawn.
• You agree to provide testimonials, feature in case studies and/or participate in marketing activities upon request.

Application Deadline

How To Apply

• Obtain an offer for a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programme at University College Birmingham.

• Submit your scholarship application via the relevant application link for your intake: February 2027, September 2027, February 2028

• Include a personal statement of no more than 500 words outlining your achievements to date, your innovative or enterprising ideas, your career aspirations, and how studying at University College Birmingham will support your future goals.

• You will be notified of the outcome via email.
