Sasakawa Japanese Studies Postgraduate Studentship is provided by the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures, University of Manchester. This funding is available to students undertaking postgraduate research in full-time Japanese studies.
The University of Manchester, in its present form, was created in 2004 by the amalgamation of the Victoria University of Manchester and the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). For MA and PhD students studying Japanese studies, up to three Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation studentships worth £10,000 for a year may be available.
