This is a competitive award applied as a tuition fee discount of £10,000 in the first year of study and £2,500 in each subsequent year subject to meeting progression criteria.
Requirements
- You must commence your studies of an undergraduate degree at the University of Sheffield in September 2027. All undergraduate degree courses are included except for Medicine (A100/A101) and Dentistry (A200).
- You must choose the University of Sheffield as your firm or insurance choice before 4pm (UK time) on Wednesday 2 June 2027.
- You must be currently studying at an Oxbridge Tutorial College at the point of application.
Selection Process
This is a competitive process and not all applications will be successful. A panel of senior members of staff will select the strongest applications and will be looking for the following:
- Applicant has given examples of achievements which represent excellence and initiative in educational, voluntary, or extra-curricular areas.
- Applicant has shown how these achievements relate to the course they have applied for at the University of Sheffield and connected that to their future ambitions.
- Applicant has a strong academic profile.
- The applicant should provide a letter of recommendation from the school. The letter should highlight the student’s academic achievements, intellectual curiosity and dedication to learning, as well as personal qualities like leadership and integrity. It can include examples of teamwork, extracurricular activities, notable awards and contributions to school or community life. Specific projects or coursework examples may strengthen the letter. Most importantly, it should explain why the student deserves the scholarship and convey confidence in their future success and potential impact.

Apply for the Oxbridge Tutorial College Scholarship 2027
The deadline to apply is 1pm (UK time) on Thursday 29 April 2027.
Successful applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application before the end of May 2027 and will need to accept the scholarship before Wednesday 2 June 2027.
