The University of the Arts London (UAL) is offering the UAL International Postgraduate £7,000 Scholarships for the 2025/26 academic year. Providing a £7,000 tuition fee waiver, this scholarship is available to up to 311 international students pursuing a full-time or part-time taught Master's course (Grad Dip, M ARCH, MA, MFA, MBA, MRes, or MSc) at one of UAL's Colleges and Institutes (excluding UAL Online courses). This scholarship aims to support talented international students who meet specific academic qualifications and are able to articulate how the scholarship will impact their future.

Requirements

• Offer of Study: Must hold an offer to study a full-time or part-time taught Master's course (Grad Dip, M ARCH, MA, MFA, MBA, MRes, or MSc) at one of UAL's Colleges or Institutes, starting in 2025/26. (UAL Online courses are not eligible).
• Fee Status: Must qualify for the Overseas category of tuition fee status.
• Academic Achievement: Must have achieved, or be predicted to achieve, an upper second-class honours degree (2:1) or above at undergraduate level (or a recognized equivalent qualification).
• Previous UK Postgraduate Study: Not eligible if you already hold a UK postgraduate taught qualification (or equivalent level) from studies undertaken in the UK.

• A personal statement addressing your background, academic experience, how the scholarship would make a difference, future plans, and other funding sources (max 350 words per question).
• A satisfactory personal reference from an academic or professional referee (in English).
• Transcripts as proof of qualification (or evidence of predicted grade if results are pending).

How To Apply

1. Secure an Offer for a UAL Postgraduate Course:

• You must hold an offer to study a full-time or part-time taught Master's course (Grad Dip, M ARCH, MA, MFA, MBA, MRes, or MSc qualification) at one of UAL's Colleges or Institutes.
• Important Note: Courses run by UAL Online are not eligible for this scholarship.
• Recommendation: Apply for your chosen course well in advance to ensure you receive your offer before the scholarship deadlines. For September/October 2025 start dates, while Round 1 applications closed on March 21, 2025, you can still apply for Round 2. For January 2026 courses, the deadline is October 31, 2025.

2. Access the Scholarship Application Form:

• Once you have received an offer from UAL, log in to your applicant portal.
• The "my funding" page within your portal will be updated (from mid-January 2025 onwards) to display scholarship application forms for which you are eligible.

3. Complete the Scholarship Application Form and Prepare Supporting Documents:

• Personal Statement: This is a crucial part of your application. You must provide a personal statement (maximum 350 words per question) responding to the following:
  • Describe your background and your academic experience.
  • Describe how receiving a postgraduate scholarship would make a difference to you.
  • Tell us how you intend to use the qualification you will be gaining to support your future plans.
  • Confirm any other sources of funding you have, or have applied for, to meet the cost of your studies in the UK.
• Academic Transcripts: You need to provide proof of your undergraduate qualification.
  • If you have already achieved an upper second-class honours degree (2:1) or above (or recognized equivalent), provide your official transcripts.
  • If you have not yet received your final results, you will need to provide evidence of your predicted grade. If you are granted the award based on predicted grades, you will need to provide further evidence of your final achieved grade later.
• Personal Reference: You must provide a satisfactory personal reference from an academic or professional referee. The reference must be in English.

4. Submit Your Application by the Deadline:

• Be mindful of the application deadlines, which align with UAL's postgraduate application rounds:
  • September/October 2025 Course Start:
    • Round 1: Friday, March 21, 2025 (Decision by Mid-May 2025) - This deadline has passed.
    • Round 2: Sunday, June 22, 2025 (Decision by Thursday, July 31, 2025)
• January 2026 Course Start:
  • Friday, October 31, 2025 (Decision by Mid-December 2025)
• Applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm (UK time) on the respective deadline dates.
• Late applications and incomplete submissions will not be considered.
• Important: If your scholarship application in Round 1 is unsuccessful for a September/October 2025 start, you will not be able to apply again in Round 2.
