This scholarship is ideal for those with an interest in supporting people with learning disabilities within a nursing, social work or care setting.

Requirements

• They are the first generation in their family to progress to higher education (i.e. if a brother or sister has been to university, they are still eligible)
• Mature students (aged 21 or over on 1 September before the course begins) who do not currently hold a bachelor’s degree
• Have a family household income of less than £25,000 per year
• Identify as being disabled or having a specific learning difference
• They are under the age of 25 and have spent time in care in the UK or are estranged from their family
• They are recognised by social services as a young adult carer
• They are entering Higher Education with a BTEC as their main qualification
