African Graduate Scholarship at University College London 2026

The scholarships exist to support African nationals with a high-quality academic and professional background who would not be able to study at UCL without financial assistance. The Scholarship is a one-off award for the academic year September-September to study at the UCL Institute for Global Health on the MSc Global Health and Development programme.

Requirements

• The candidate must be an African national and a permanent resident of an African nation at the time of application.
• The candidate must have made an application and been accepted with an unconditional offer to UCL to study the MSc in Global Health and Development full time. 
• The scheme offers a substantial scholarship towards UCL tuition fees, accommodation and some living costs.
• The candidate must also be able to provide evidence that they have secured other sources of funding for travelling to and from the UK.
• Candidates must demonstrate financial need, and provide evidence (letters, etc) that they have applied to other funding bodies for support or that they have some personal funding to cover for travelling and initial expenses.
• Candidates must complete and return the application form to [email protected] Complete applications must be submitted by Friday 29th May 2026, 17:00 BST
• Candidates must demonstrate concrete plans to utilise the MSc.

Selection Process

Before completing this application, please note that:

1. The scholarships provide a small number of awards towards tuition fees and living costs while studying at IGH.
2. Scholarships administered by IGH are only available to selected students who intend to pursue an MSc in Global Health and Development at the UCL Institute for Global Health. Scholarships are not available to study other degrees at UCL or at any other institution.
3. Successful candidates will not receive the entire scholarship funds directly. Tuition fees and accommodation costs are deducted from the award.
4. Scholarship deadlines are adhered to strictly. No scholarship applications will be accepted after the deadline date indicated.
5. A selection committee will consider applications.  The decision of the selection committee is final and not subject to appeal.
6. Due to a high volume of applications, we do not provide individual feedback for unsuccessful applicants.

Successful applicants will be contacted in July. If you have not been contacted by this time, please presume your application was not selected on this occasion
