If you apply to one of our selected full-time Computing, Engineering or Built Environment courses starting in September 2025 you could be eligible to receive a Henderson Scholarship worth £10,000 a year over three years, or a one-off Henderson Access Bursary of £2,000.
Generously funded by Birmingham City University graduate and Slack co-founder Cal Henderson and his wife Rebecca through the Henderson Family Foundation, these bursaries and scholarships are for UK students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computing, Engineering or Technology-related subjects.
The scholarship is made up of £10,000 per academic year. Your tuition fees will be paid directly to the University (£9,535 in 2025/26) , with the remaining funds being transferred into your personal bank account.
To be eligible for this funding, you must:
1. Secure a place on one of our Computing, Engineering and Built Environment degree courses starting in September 2025 (see ‘eligible courses’ below), studying full-time.
2. Be from a lower socio-economic background?(i.e. from a lower income household of £25,000 or less and/or be eligible or have previously been eligible for free school meals), as well as from a priority under-represented group: female and/or ethnic minority.
3. Complete a Scholarship or Bursary application form by 11.59pm Friday 19 September 2025.
