Applications are now open for the British Council GREAT Scholarships 2025 at UEA. This year, in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, UEA is offering a GREAT Scholarships worth £10,000 to students from Bangladesh, China, Ghana and Nigeria.
The award is a competition-based scholarship worth £10,000. This award cannot be combined with any other UEA award.
The British Council is a British organisation specialising in international educational and cultural opportunities. It is registered as a charity both in England and Wales and Scotland. Founded in 1934 as the British Committee for Relations with Other Countries, and granted a royal charter by King George VI in 1940, the British Council was inspired by Sir Reginald ("Rex") Leeper's recognition of the importance of "cultural propaganda" in promoting British interests. The GREAT Scholarship is open to all passport holding nationals of Bangladesh, China, Ghana and Nigeria, who hold an offer of a UEA postgraduate taught degree programme for September 2025 entry.

This award is designed to reward applicants who have been offered a place to study with UEA and who can clearly and concisely explain how studying here at UEA will help them to make an outstanding contribution to their chosen field of study by answering the following question:
How will your experience at UEA help you to develop your knowledge and skills for the future?
Submissions can be made by uploading a video, no longer than two minutes, filmed in standard definition using your phone and submitted as an .mp4 file.
Or by completing a written statement of no more than 500 words.
In your submission you should:
Tell us how the skills gained from your course will help you meet your future career aspirations.
Consider the different social and extra-curricular opportunities available to you at UEA, and outline how you may engage with these in order to enhance your experience, and those of your fellow students.
When applying for this scholarship,?you must already be in possession of a conditional or unconditional offer for a postgraduate taught degree course starting at UEA in September 2025. Your offer should state that you are an international?fee-paying?student.
Applicants in receipt of another UEA scholarship or award should note that scholarships are exclusive. In a situation where a candidate is offered multiple awards?the greater amount will be offered.
