Cambridge Campus Football Scholarship 2025

The Cambridge United Football Scholarship, offered by Cambridge Regional College in partnership with Cambridge United Football Club, is a unique two-year programme for students aged 16–19 who are passionate about football and aspire to build a career in the sports industry. Combining a full-time Extended Diploma in Sport Studies with elite football training and competitive play, this scholarship provides the perfect balance of academic study and athletic development, preparing learners for university scholarships, professional opportunities, and various careers in sport.

Requirements

To be eligible for the Cambridge United Football Scholarship at Cambridge Regional College, applicants must:

• Be aged 16–19

• Be passionate about pursuing a career in football or the wider sports industry

• Successfully pass a trial selection process

• Be committed to full-time study on the Extended Diploma in Sport Studies

• Be willing to participate in regular training (2–3 times a week), competitive matches, and all practical assessments

• Meet the general entry requirements for post-16 study at CRC

Applicants must also demonstrate a strong commitment to both their academic and athletic development.

• Current Issues in Sport

• Research Project (Pearson-set)

• Plus optional certifications (e.g., YMCA Fitness, First Aid, Refereeing)

Interview Dates and Process

Entry & Assessment:

• Entry via trial selection

• Must be willing to engage in all practical activities

• Continuous assessment through practical and theoretical work

• Physical fitness assessed four times a year

The next Cambridge United Football Scholarship Trials will be taking place at Queens & Robinson Sports Ground.

Female: Monday 28th October, 10am -12pm.

Male: Tuesday 29th October, 10am -12pm.
