£4,000 per academic yea

Requirements

Applicant must have:

• a household income below £42,875 (as determined by Student Finance)and meet at least one of the following criteria

• be the first generation in your immediate family to attend University

• be from a background currently underrepresented in Computer Science

Preference will be given to applicants from the North East of England - defined as having a postcode beginning with DH, DL, NE, SR or TS.

How To Apply

1. Apply for a course
   • Submit an academic application to Durham University via UCAS prior to the scholarship deadline.
   • Apply to UCAS
2. Complete a scholarship application
   • Submit the following by the scholarship deadline of 15 April 2026
   • A completed scholarship application form 
   • Provide a copy of your Student Finance letter confirming the amount of maintenance loan you will receive to [email protected]   If you do not have this information by the scholarship deadline please provide it as soon as you receive it from Student Finance England.
   • Arrange for a reference in support of your scholarship application to be sent by email to [email protected].
   • Please ensure your referee submits the reference on letter headed paper which contains:
     • their name
     • position
     • contact details
     • the name of the scholarship you have applied for
     • your full name
