Requirements

To be eligible for this award, you must be:

  • domiciled in Benin, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and Togo at the time of application. 
  • self-funding your course.
  • meet the entry criteria for a bachelors or taught masters course in September 2025 and January 2026.
  • successfully progressing to each year of study to claim the award as an undergraduate student (up-to a maximum award of £8,000).

How To Apply

  1. Apply for Admission
    First, apply for an eligible undergraduate or taught postgraduate course starting in September 2025 or January 2026 at Edinburgh Napier University.

  2. Meet Eligibility Requirements
    Ensure you:

    • Are domiciled in Benin, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, or Togo at the time of application.

    • Are self-funding your studies (not sponsored or receiving another scholarship).

    • Meet all entry requirements for your chosen course.

  3. Pay Your Tuition Deposit
    Once you receive an offer, pay your tuition fee deposit to secure your place.

  4. Email the University
    After paying your deposit, email [email protected] to confirm your interest in being considered for the West Africa Scholarship.

  5. Automatic Award (First-Come, First-Served)
    Scholarships are awarded automatically to eligible students who apply early and complete the steps above. Due to limited availability, apply and pay your deposit as soon as possible to increase your chances.

Note:

  • MRes programmes are not eligible.

  • You will not be eligible if you already receive a tuition discount from a partner university or hold another scholarship.

  • The scholarship amount will be included in your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) for your UK student visa application.
