GREAT scholarships at Sheffield Hallam University 2026

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, Sheffield Hallam University is offering two scholarships to students in Egypt and Thailand starting a full-time postgraduate taught course in September 2026 who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement.

Benefits

Scholarship winners will receive a £10,000 tuition fee waiver for their full-time postgraduate taught course.

Requirements

To be eligible for any of the GREAT Scholarships, you must meet the following criteria:

• Be an international fee-paying student fully financing your studies, without external funding from sources such as a government, other scholarship provider, company, or employer.
• Have achieved a minimum 2.1 or its equivalent in your undergraduate honours degree.
• Meet the English language proficiency and academic entry requirements for your chosen course.
• Be able to pay the remainder of your tuition fee and any additional fees your course may require, for example field trips.
• Be domiciled in Egypt or Thailand. One scholarship is available for each of these countries.
• Have applied for a full-time taught postgraduate course at Sheffield Hallam University starting in September 2026.

You cannot apply for or receive this scholarship if you:

• Have applied for a postgraduate taught course longer than one academic year in duration.
• Are already enrolled upon the Sheffield Hallam University course for which you are applying for a scholarship.
• Have previously received a GREAT scholarship.
• Are applying to study a Sheffield Hallam course at a partner institution outside the UK.

Application Deadline

How To Apply

There are three steps to your scholarship application.

1. Apply for your chosen course. You can see all of the courses we offer on our online prospectus. You must have applied for a place on one of our courses before the scholarship application deadline or your application will not be considered. 
2. Submit a GREAT scholarship application form 
3. Send your academic transcripts to [email protected]

The deadline for submitting your scholarship application is 31 May 2026.

We will use your application to understand what makes you stand out. Tell us about your achievements so far, and about how you will be an ambassador for the University during and after your studies.

The form will also ask for your student identifier (SI) number. This is an eight-digit number that we sent you after processing your application.

Your scholarship application will not be considered if you do not provide your SI number on the online scholarship application form.
