The Henderson Bursaries and Scholarships are open to students who are applying for a full-time Computing, Engineering or Built Environment courses starting in September 2026.

Benefits

  • 15 full-fee, course-long Scholarships, each amounting to £30,000
  • 50 means-tested Bursaries of £2,000.

Requirements

These bursaries and scholarships are for UK students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computing, Engineering or Technology-related subjects.

To be eligible for this funding, you must:

  1. Secure a place on one of our Computing, Engineering or Built Environment degree courses starting in September 2026 (see ‘eligible courses’ below), studying full-time.

      Computer Networks and Security - BSc (Hons)

      Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence - BSc (Hons) 
      Computing and Information Technology - BSc (Hons) 
      Cyber Security - BSc (Hons) 
      Game Design - BA (Hons) 
      Game Technical Art - BA (Hons) 
      Game Programming - BSc (Hons) 
      Game Technology - BSc (Hons) 
      Music Technology - BSc (Hons) 
      Sound Engineering - BSc (Hons) 

      Engineering

      Electrical and Electronic Engineering - BEng (Hons) 
      Mechanical Engineering - BEng (Hons) 

      Built Environment

      Architectural Technology - BSc (Hons) 
      Civil Engineering - BEng (Hons)
      Construction Management - BSc (Hons)
      Quantity Surveying - BSc (Hons)
      Real Estate - BSc (Hons)

      Excluded courses

      Apprenticeships
      Courses delivered by BCU partners
      Part-time courses
      Sub-degree courses, such as foundation year entry and HNC/HND

      Top-up courses

  2. Be from a lower socio-economic background?(i.e. from a lower income household of £25,000 or less and/or be eligible or have previously been eligible for free school meals), as well as from a priority under-represented group: female and/or ethnic minority.

How To Apply

  1. Secure a place on an eligible course at BCU.

    You will need to have a confirmed place on an eligible course at BCU on receipt of your level 3 qualifications (A Level / BTEC or equivalent). You can see all eligible courses in our Terms and Conditions below.
