Home Postgraduate Scholarships at University of the Arts London 2026-2027

This scholarship provides a £7,000 fee waiver for a full-time or part-time taught master’s course at one of UAL's Colleges and Institutes. 200 UAL Home Postgraduate Scholarships are available for the 26/27 academic year. The scholarship offers 2 routes of application, each with different eligibility criteria.

Requirements

Route 1 — Means

All applicants who meet the scholarship's financial eligibility criteria and course entry requirements will be offered the scholarship.

Route 2 — Merit

Route 2 scholarships are awarded on merit by a UAL selection panel, who make their decision based on the evidence provided in your application.

If you think you meet the criteria for Route 1 and 2, we recommend you complete each scholarship application form to be considered for both.

Route 1

To be eligible to apply you must:

  1. be confirmed as a Home student for tuition fee purposes. EU and other non-UK nationals who qualify for the Home tuition fee status will also be eligible to apply; and
  2. hold an offer to study a full-time or part-time taught master’s course at one of UAL's Colleges and Institutes. Courses run by UAL Online are not eligible for this scholarship. Your course must offer either a Grad Dip, MArch, MA, MBA, MFA, MRes or MSc qualification; and
  3. be in receipt of means-tested benefit at the time of application, to include Universal Credit; or
  4. have previously received student funding from UAL (excluding the UAL Equipment Fund or previous UAL scholarship) or your previous university, awarded based on financial hardship; or
  5. have previously been in care for more than 13 weeks (spanning your 16th birthday).

Route 2

To be eligible to apply you must:

  1. be confirmed as a Home student for tuition fee purposes. EU and other non-UK nationals who qualify for the Home tuition fee status will also be eligible to apply; and
  2. hold an offer to study a full-time or part-time taught master’s course at 1 of UAL's Colleges and Institutes. Courses run by UAL Online are not eligible for this scholarship. Your course must offer either a Grad Dip, MArch, MA, MBA, MFA, MRes or MSc qualification; and
  3. have achieved, or are predicted to achieve, an upper second-class honours degree (2:1) or above. Recognised equivalent academic qualifications are accepted, please refer to the UK ENIC to check your degree. You will need to provide your transcript as proof of your qualification. If you have not yet received your results, you will need to provide evidence of your predicted grade as part of your application. When you receive your results, you will need to provide further evidence that you have achieved your predicted grade to be granted the award; and
  4. provide a personal statement which responds to the following questions (maximum 350 words per question):
    1. Please tell us about how your achievements and experience gained both within and outside of school/university demonstrate your suitability for this award.
    2. Please tell us how you intend to use the qualification you will be studying to support your future plans.
    3. What contribution do you intend to make to university life whilst studying? How do you feel being part of the UAL community will help you in achieving your career aspirations?

Please note:

You are not eligible to apply if you already hold a UK postgraduate taught or equivalent qualification from studies undertaken in the UK or anywhere else in the world.

How To Apply

You will need to hold an offer for your postgraduate course before applying to the Home Postgraduate Scholarship.

If you are planning to join a course starting in autumn 2026, we recommend you apply for your chosen course(s) before the Round 2 course application deadline on Wednesday 18 March 2026 to ensure you receive your course offer before the Home Postgraduate Scholarship deadline of Friday 26 June 2026 for autumn start courses.

Once you've received an offer to study at UAL, the ‘my funding’ page on your applicant portal will be updated from December 2025 onwards to include the application forms for scholarships you may be eligible for.

If you submit a scholarship application, we will email you by the following dates to let you know if you have been successful:

Applications can be submitted until 11.59pm (UK time) on the dates above. We are not able to accept late or incomplete applications from students who have not yet received a course offer.
