The School of Science is offering the Women in Science Bursary (£1000 per annum) to women applicants to assist them to pursue their studies at Loughborough, and help them develop as future scientists working in industry or academia.
Loughborough University (abbreviated as Lough for post-nominals) is a public research university located in the market town of Loughborough, Leicestershire, in the East Midlands of England. It has been a university since 1966, but the institution dates back to 1909, when the then Loughborough Technical Institute began with a focus on skills and knowledge which would be directly applicable in the wider world. The School of Science is pleased to offer Women in Science bursaries of £1000 per annum to assist women applicants to pursue their studies at Loughborough, and help them develop their careers as future scientists working in industry or academia.
Applicants considering 2025 entry to any of our undergraduate degree programmes in Computer Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, or Natural Sciences, are invited to apply.
Applicants are asked to write a statement (ca. 500 words) outlining their interest in science or maths, what they think can be done to improve recruitment and retention of women and underrepresented groups in science, and what the bursary will help them achieve while at university.
