Following the success of SOAS's recent study day in Mongolian Studies and looking to the growing strength of this scholarly field worldwide, the School of Arts invites applications for a postgraduate taught scholarship in the art history and/or archaeology of Mongolia, including the Mongol Empire.
The competition is open to any offer holder of a master’s degree programme in the Department of History of Art and Archaeology who qualifies for UK Home fees and will begin their MA programme either full or part time in the 2025/26 session.
One award available commencing in 2025/26 which will cover full-time Home tuition fees in full. For part-time study over 2 or 3-years, this award will cover 2-years or 3-years of Home tuition fees respectively, subject to successful progression.

Step 2: Apply for the scholarship
Applications should take the form of a concise statement of purpose and career plans, outlining how you meet the eligibility criteria and outlining how the award would impact your studies. Applications should not exceed 600 words and must be sent by email in PDF format to [email protected] by 14 August 2025.
