Newcastle University is pleased to offer 10 Vice-Chancellor’s Global Scholarships for outstanding international applicants who apply to commence full-time undergraduate studies.

About Newcastle University

Newcastle University (Officially, the University of Newcastle upon Tyne) is a public research university located in Newcastle upon Tyne in the North-East of England. The university can trace its origins to a School of Medicine and Surgery (later the College of Medicine), established in 1834, and to the College of Physical Science (later renamed Armstrong College), founded in 1871. £4,000 tuition fee awards


Requirements for Newcastle University Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification

  • Be assessed as international for fee purposes
  • Hold an offer for an eligible undergraduate degree programme at the University's Newcastle city centre campus for the 2025/26 academic year
  • Already have or expect to receive a minimum of ABB at A level or equivalent

Applicants domiciled in the following countries are not eligible to apply for VCGS awards as the University offers specific schemes for these countries/ regions:

  • Bahrain
  • South Africa, Kenya 
  • USA, Canada
  • China
  • Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea 
  • Brazil, Mexico, Peru
  • Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and UAE
  • India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka 
  • Nigeria
  • Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka
  • Any member state of the European Union 

Eligible candidates will be assessed according to evidence of academic ability, evidence of commitment to studies and quality of application.
