Newcastle University Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships 2024

Newcastle University is pleased to offer 39 Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships (VCES) for outstanding international applicants who apply to commence full-time Master’s studies on an eligible programme.

Newcastle University (Officially, the University of Newcastle upon Tyne) is a public research university located in Newcastle upon Tyne in the North-East of England. The university can trace its origins to a School of Medicine and Surgery (later the College of Medicine), established in 1834, and to the College of Physical Science (later renamed Armstrong College), founded in 1871. Aim and Benefits of Newcastle University Postgraduate Scholarship

There are 37 up to 50% tuition fee scholarships and 2 100% tuition fee scholarships.


Requirements for Newcastle University Postgraduate Scholarship Qualification

To be considered for the up to 50% scholarships applicants must:

  • be domiciled in of one of the following countries: Canada, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, the USA, Mexico, Central America* or South America**.
  • be assessed as international for fee purposes
  • hold an offer for an eligible Master’s degree programme at the University’s Newcastle city centre campus for the 2024/25 academic year
  • already have or expect to receive the equivalent of an upper second class UK honours degree or above

*Central America - Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama

**South America - Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela

Eligible candidates will be assessed according to evidence of academic ability, evidence of commitment to studies and quality of application.

To be considered for the 100% scholarships applicants must:

  • be domiciled in Ukraine or India.
  • be assessed as international for fee purposes
  • hold an offer for an eligible Master’s degree programme at the University’s Newcastle city centre campus for the 2024/25 academic year
  • already have or expect to receive the equivalent of an upper second class UK honours degree or above

Eligible candidates will be assessed according to evidence of academic ability, evidence of commitment to studies and quality of application.
