The School offers a series of doctoral studentships in cutting edge research areas, including topics related with Applied Vision, Food Policy, Health Services Research, Language and Communication Science, Maternal and Child Health, Midwifery, Mental Health and Psychology.
The post holder will work as part of our academic team in a dynamic and supportive environment that is known internationally for its outstanding research and teaching.
We have a strong research environment, with the Department placed in the top 25 nationally for research outputs within the latest Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021) (Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience unit of assessment).
Research in the department spans a breadth of topics across psychological sciences and neuroscience. We are supported by excellent facilities; as well as dedicated labs for psychophysiology, cognitive neuroscience and infant cognition.
We achieved high levels of student satisfaction in the NSS last year and are dedicated to ensuring a rich and fulfilling experience for our Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.
The teaching element of this role involves supporting teaching on the Department’s undergraduate taught programmes.
Teaching duties will primarily involve working within a small team to deliver our Research Methods and Statistics modules under the direction of our module leaders, as well as marking students’ submitted work.
The PhD/research element of this role involves being enrolled as a part-time PhD student. You may only apply after consultation with a proposed supervisor and the completion of a project proposal.
