Benefits

  • Full- time students will receive a maintenance grant of £22,780 per annum that will rise in line with UKRI stipends, and a full tuition fee waiver (this includes home and overseas students).
  • In addition to the advertised stipend, funded students will receive £1,500 for research expenses including travel costs.

Requirements

The studentship will be awarded on the basis of outstanding academic achievement and potential to produce cutting edge research.

Applicants should have:

  • a bachelor's degree in a clinical or biomedical discipline and a master’s degree or equivalent in health management
  • It is essential that the applicant has knowledge of health systems change through working in the English National Health Service in a management/operational role
  • It is essential to have clinical experience as well as qualitative research experience and an evidenced (by prior collaboration or publication) interest in antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
  • an IELTS score of at least 7 (with a minimum of 7.0 in writing) if your first language is not English.

  • Applicants will submit a personal statement accompanied by a current CV. The personal statement should address why you wish to pursue doctoral study, what attracted you to the particular project, and what skills you believe you have that will help you successfully complete a doctoral degree.
