The Gaelic Books Council offer a full scholarship for the University of Stirling MLitt Publishing Studies for the academic year 2025-26, awarded to a student with fluent written and spoken Scottish Gaelic.
The scholarship includes placement opportunities in the Gaelic publishing industry and requires the student to complete a dissertation or digital project on a topic relevant to the Gaelic publishing industry.
The scholarship covers Home/EU course fees (£9,500 in 2025-26) and a travel and subsistence bursary of up to £2,000.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for interview in the week of 18 August. Part of the interview will be conducted in Gaelic.
Make a full application (including a personal statement and one reference) for a place on the MLitt in Publishing Studies via the University of Stirling Admissions Office.
Write an additional personal statement in Gaelic (1,500 words maximum), detailing how you would benefit from the scholarship in your career and what you perceive to be the importance and opportunities of Gaelic publishing.
