The Kanka Mallick Award for Teacher Training at MMU 2025-2026

This scholarship is supported by Emeritus Professor Gajendra Verma of The University of Manchester. It was established in recognition of Dr Kanka Mallick’s commitment to improving inclusivity by offering much-needed financial assistance to PCGE students.

£625 paid in one instalment. 

Requirements

You must:

• Hold a firm offer to study a new full-time course in the 2025/26 academic year, excluding distance learning, in a PGCE.
• Be a UK student - English, Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish - paying the standard full-time fees, and have a UK Student Support Number.
• Pay for your course yourself, including through a student loan or a payment from your parents. Your course fees must not be paid by a business, charity or other organisation. You must not be getting a teacher training bursary.
• Have a household income of £25,000 or less. We’ll check this against your Student Finance application. Please contact us if you will not be applying to Student Finance for a maintenance loan.
