The scholarship award for 2026 is £10,000 and will be available in all rounds of the Red Dragon Scholarship application process.
Requirements
To be eligible for the Red Dragon Scholarship, you must:
- be domiciled in Mainland China or Türkiye
- be classed an international fee-paying student
- be holding an offer for a full-time campus-based postgraduate taught masters programme at Cardiff University commencing in September 2026 at the point of submitting a scholarship application
- have accepted your academic course offer by the deadline of the scholarship round in which you are applying
- have submitted the scholarship application by the deadline of the scholarship round in which you are applying
- meet all the offer conditions (if applicable), including any English Language conditions, as stated in your offer letter by Monday 21 September 2026.
Selection Process
A panel of senior staff will assess your application, and you will be notified if you have been successful no later than dates below, dependant on the scholarship round in which you have applied. You may be notified if you are successful before the date below.
- Round 1: 07 April 2026
- Round 2: 19 May 2026
- Round 3: 06 July 2026

- Apply for a postgraduate degree at Cardiff University and receive an offer
- To apply for the Red Dragon Scholarship, you must submit a completed application form by the deadline of the scholarship round in which you are applying.
- A link to the application form will be emailed to eligible offer holders.
The application deadlines are:
- Round 1: 31 March 2026
- Round 2: 15 May 2026
- Round 3: 30 June 2026
The online application form is easy to complete and should only take a maximum of 10 minutes. You will need to include:
- your Cardiff University application number
- your current or most recent institution of study
- your current or most recent average CGPA and percentile mark
