Applications are welcome from graduates with a First or Upper Second Honours degree in Music, or an equivalent qualification, who plan to undertake MMus studies within the Department of Music at the University of Aberdeen in any area of music, beginning in the academic year 2025-26. Applicants starting an MMus in either September 2025 or January 2026 are eligible to apply. Applicants must hold an offer of admission for the MMus before applying for the scholarships.
Each scholarship is valued at £2,000 for the one year duration of the postgraduate degree. The scholarship will be dispersed in two equal parts, the first instalment of £1,000 at the start of the academic year and the second instalment of £1,000 at the start of the second half session. The award is received subject to satisfactory progress over the period and an annual review will take place.
Applicants of any fee status are eligible to apply for the scholarships.
Applicants must hold an offer of admission for the Master of Music (MMus) postgraduate degree programme before applying for the scholarships. To apply, please submit a CV including your University of Aberdeen Applicant Reference Number, at least one example of your recent work (i.e. composition or essay) and a covering letter with an outline of your intended postgraduate studies, to: Lyndsey Scott, School Administrator (email: [email protected]). Your application will be considered for both scholarships.
