University of Cambridge Crop Science Research Fellowship for International Researchers 2024

We are looking for an aspirational, passionate and impact-driven scientist for a Research Fellowship as an early-career investigator to develop an independent research programme. The fellowships will run for 3 years in the first instance, with an extension for up to a further two years dependent on review and funding (5 years maximum). The Fellowship must focus on research with potential for impact in small-holder farming systems, in particular improving climate resilience for nutrient-rich crops, for instance legumes. We particularly invite applications from researchers working on crops of relevance to small-holder farmers in sub-Saharan Africa.

Aim and Benefits of University of Cambridge Fellowship

The position includes salary for 5 years for the fellow and some funds to help support research. The post-holder will join the Crop Science Centre, a vibrant new centre that focuses on research with potential for impact in the sustainability and equity of global food production.


Requirements for University of Cambridge Fellowship Qualification

We are looking for an energetic and intelligent individual that is passionate about creating positive change in agriculture. We will consider applicants who have recently completed their PhD, have postdoctoral experience or those who already lead independent research programmes, but wish to move more into impact-focused research. Candidates must be able to demonstrate evidence for commitment to recognising impact from their research. This can be in the form of publications, patents, products, vision and community empowerment.
