Requirements
- All applicants for the Cumbria Global Excellence PGT Merit Scholarships must hold an offer of a place of study on an eligible full-time taught master’s degree (180 credits) at the following University of Cumbria campuses: Ambleside, Carlisle Brampton Road, Carlisle Fusehill Street and Lancaster.
- For students enrolling on programmes lasting more than one year the scholarship is awarded for the first year of the programme only.
- Only applicants with an offer of a place in September 2026 will be considered for an award.
- All scholarship applicants/recipients must be self-funding students with overseas fee status.
- To be eligible to apply for a PGT Merit Scholarship, applicants must:
- be holding an unconditional or conditional offer for their place of study
- have accepted their offer for a place of study by the scholarship application deadline,
- have paid the relevant deposit and
- have completed the scholarship application form in its entirety, (incomplete applications will be disregarded).
- Scholarship applicants:
- holding, or on track to be awarded, the equivalent of a minimum of a UK 2:2 bachelor's degree will be considered for an award
- submitting a unique personal statement in support of their application (not AI generated) will be considered
- The decision of the scholarship panel is final, and the decision cannot be appealed.

Selection Process
Selection is competitive and based on
- Academic performance
- English proficiency, and
- A unique personal statement.
Scholarships cannot be combined with other awards.
