The International UG Merit Scholarship is an automatic tuition fee discount awarded to international students paying overseas fees and enrolling in eligible undergraduate programmes at UEA in September 2025. The scholarship is worth £4,000 per year of full-fee study (excluding placement or study abroad years), and is automatically applied after an offer is made. No separate application is required.
This award is worth:
- £4,000 for every year of study excluding placement years, years in industry or years or semesters abroad or any other occasion where a student is not paying the full Overseas fee.
This will be deducted from tuition fees on an annual basis.
To be eligible, students must be classified as international (overseas fee payers) and enrolled in one of the qualifying degree programmes. Courses such as MBBS Medicine, BSc Physiotherapy, BSc Occupational Therapy, and some final-year entry or International Year One programmes are excluded from this scholarship. Students must accept their offer to secure the award, which will then be deducted annually from their tuition fees.

The International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship at the University of East Anglia (UEA) does not require a separate application. Eligible international students who apply for an undergraduate course starting in September 2025 will be automatically considered for the award. Once an offer of admission is made, the scholarship—worth £4,000 per year of study—will be automatically applied as a tuition fee reduction, excluding any placement years, years abroad, or other periods when full overseas fees are not paid.
