The Mansion House Scholarship Scheme (MHSS) awards scholarships to students and business executives at an early stage of their careers. Scholars are funded to study or undertake training or work experience in the financial services sector within the UK. The Scheme was established during Sir Richard Nichols’ mayoralty in 1997/98. Sir Richard was the first Lord Mayor of the City of London to act as Patron of the Scheme for the full term of his mayoralty and he made the first two awards, appointing Mansion House Scholars from Vietnam and Thailand, following visits to both countries. The Scheme was registered with the Charity Commission in 2001. Since its inception the Scheme has awarded 208 scholarships to applicants from 70 countries, 35 of which are defined as developing by the OECD.
Awards vary in size but are in the region of £10,000 and are restricted to those applying to study or to undertake training in the financial services sector or in related subjects
Applicants can apply via email to [email protected]
