The Simon Wharmby Scholarship is a donor-funded award offered by the University of East Anglia (UEA) to support outstanding applicants enrolled in MSc programmes within the School of Environmental Sciences. The scholarship seeks to promote academic excellence, with a preference for students showing interest in island conservation and extinction prevention.
£10,000 funding which covers tuition fees and maintenance support
Must hold an offer to study one of the eligible MSc programmes at UEA
Open to applicants paying either UK or international tuition fees
Preference given to students demonstrating an interest in island conservation or extinction prevention
Cannot be in receipt of any other donor-funded scholarship or award
Selection is based on:
Academic merit
Relevance of interests to the scholarship’s conservation focus
Financial need may also be considered
Completed scholarship application form
Evidence of offer of admission to an eligible course
Any supporting documents as requested during the application process
