University of Essex 2025 Hugh Brogan Scholarship

If you are applying to study MA History, MA History, Power, and Identity, or MA War, Culture, and Society, you could be eligible for one of four available scholarships worth £2,500, paid as a discount on your tuition fee.

The Scholarships are open to all applicants in need of financial support. In the absence of other determining factors, priority will be given to students from Global Majority/BAME backgrounds. This policy addresses the historic under-representation of students from these backgrounds within the discipline of History.

These Scholarships come courtesy of a bequest from Professor Hugh Brogan, a long-time member of the Department of History at Essex who remained actively involved in the Department following his retirement in the late 1990s.
