This scholarship is awarded annually to a student who has already accepted a place to study Scottish History within the School of Humanities at the University of Glasgow at postgraduate level in academic session 2025-26, and who is not otherwise in receipt of funding.

Benefits

The successful candidates are awarded a scholarship of approximately GBP 1,800.

Requirements

• Applicants must have confirmed the offer of admission to study Scottish History (postgraduate program, research degree of PhD or MPhil or MRes) at the university.
• Applicants who are in receipt of full-tuition scholarship do not qualify for the scholarship.
• Applicants may come from any nationality.
• Applicants must exhibit good academic standing.

How To Apply

Candidates wishing to apply should submit the following:

• the full applications they made for postgraduate study in Scottish History within the School of Humanities at the University of Glasgow, including current CV and two academic references 
• evidence of acceptance of the offer to undertake postgraduate study in Scottish History within the School of Humanities at the University of Glasgow
• a personal statement of no more than 500 words setting out the applicant’s research interests in Scottish History
