University of Glasgow Duncan and Morag MacLean Postgraduate Studentship in Celtic & Gaelic Studies (2025–26)

This is a £10,000 postgraduate studentship awarded to support Master's students in Celtic and Gaelic Studies at the University of Glasgow, with preference for those from the Scottish Highlands and Western Isles, or those passionate about the field and pursuing careers in teaching, education, or research.

Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be accepted into a Master’s programme in Celtic and Gaelic Studies at the University of Glasgow.

  • Show financial need related to tuition and/or living costs.

  • Be pursuing or intending to pursue a career in teaching, education, or research.

  • Preferably be from the Highlands and Western Isles of Scotland, though others are eligible if they demonstrate a strong interest in the field.

  1. A full curriculum vitae.
  2. A covering letter explaining why you wish to be considered for this Studentship, detailing any other funding secured and/or applied for in connection with your PG Master's programme.
  3. A brief outline of your current research and career interests (approx. one page).
  4. Proof of your admission into a Master’s programme in Celtic & Gaelic, or indication that your application is currently awaiting approval.
