Open to Kent & Medway Medical School (KMMS) applicants only. This scholarship has been generously funded by Canterbury City Council, to support widening participation activities in Canterbury and Kent. The scholarship offers £5,000 per annum to a student enrolled on the Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery course who demonstrates the need for maintenance support during their studies.

£25,000 maintenance allowance - Made up of £5,000 per annum for 5 years
Must have lived in, worked or been educated in Canterbury or must have previous evidenced Canterbury connections. Evidence could be birth, residence of immediate family at any time or education (post primary)
Additional factors which will be taken in account include belonging to a category of disadvantage such as first in family to go to university, registered young carer or care leaver. Should no suitable candidates from Canterbury apply, the scholarship will be offered to an eligible student from wider Kent.
