University of Kent Law School PhD Global Welcome Scholarship (Canterbury) 2025

The University of Kent is offering a tuition fee discount scholarship worth £5,000 per year for three years to eligible overseas students commencing full-time PhD study at Kent Law School in September 2025. This scholarship aims to support outstanding international applicants from countries receiving Official Development Assistance (ODA) as classified by the OECD. A total of four scholarships are available, and selection will be based on the strength of the applicant’s PhD application and their potential contribution to the research environment at Kent Law School.

Requirements

• Hold a valid passport demonstrating nationality of a country receiving ODA funding from the OECD. A full list of countries can be found on the OECD website
• Be classified by the University of Kent as an Overseas student for tuition fee purposes
• Be fully self-funded
• Have applied for the PhD in Law or PhD in Socio-Legal Studies at the Canterbury Campus of the University of Kent for entry in September 2025
• Have accepted an offer of a place on the PhD in Law or PhD in Socio-Legal Studies by the deadline indicated above
• Have paid your tuition fee deposit by the deadline indicated above

POINTS TO NOTE:

• You must meet the academic conditions of entry/be accepted for entry for the award to be given
• This award cannot be held in conjunction with other awards and scholarships. Please contact us for further information.
• Graduates of the University of Kent are eligible for the award if they meet the stated conditions.
• Where students are required to continue their studies beyond their original period of registration, the award will only be provided for that original period of registration.

Application Deadline

How To Apply

There is no application process. All eligible applicants who have been offered a place and accepted that offer by 13 June 2025, 23.59 BST will be considered for the scholarship. If you are awarded the scholarship, you will then need to pay your tuition fee deposit by 31 July 2025, 23.59 BST, in order to secure the scholarship.
