The University of Kent is giving out a scholarship to support one full-time undergraduate student in the humanities in memory of Martin Cook.

£3,000 per annum for the duration of the recipient's studies, (normally 3 or 4 years) subject to satisfactory academic progress.
Requirements
- Open to all full-time applicants who are UK residents paying Home tuition fees.
- Applicants must have accepted a place on a humanities undergraduate course at the University of Kent starting in September 2025 by the UCAS deadline of 30 June 2025.
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need and satisfy a range of socio-economic criteria
- Applicants must be willing to act as an 'ambassador' for the University, their subject and faculty and attend University events when requested, if not in conflict with either course attendance or classes being in session.
- Current students at the University of Kent are not eligible to apply.

Applicants must apply via KentVision, where they must provide a statement of no more than 500 words, describing their motivations for study at the University of Kent and how the scholarship will support their studies.
The successful applicant will be chosen on the basis of:
- Demonstration of financial hardship (The student must have made an application for student support to Student Finance England. Student Finance England use the student’s household income to assess whether the student is eligible to receive a bursary. If the student is eligible to receive a bursary, then they will have demonstrated socio-economic need as required by the criteria of the scholarship).
- Strength of 500 word statement.
- A level results or equivalent.
- UCAS personal statement and reference.
