University of Kent NIHR Insight Programme for South East Masters by Research Scholarships (2025)

Funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), this scholarship supports healthcare professionals pursuing the MSc in Applied Health and Care Research at the University of Kent (Centre for Health and Service Studies - CHSS). Benefits

  • Full tuition fees at the home rate

  • Annual stipend at UKRI rate: £10,390

  • Funding provided for 2 years part-time study

Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be current healthcare professionals (e.g., nurses, social workers, AHPs, etc.)

  • Have a maximum of 5 years’ practice post-registration

  • Be registered with a UK health/social care regulatory body such as:

    • NMC, HCPC, GMC, GDC, SWE, GOC, etc.

  • Hold at least a 2:2 honours degree in Social Sciences

  • Be working part-time or have employer support for study leave

Selection Process

Selection Criteria includes:

  • Relevance of professional experience

  • Suitability for research training

  • Employer support for study (discussed during interview)
