To apply for the Humanitarian Scholarship, please follow the steps below. If you are unsure at any point, please contact the scholarship team on [email protected] before proceeding.
Your first step is to apply for your course of study at the University of Liverpool. Please make sure you are applying for a one-year-long, postgraduate taught programme.
You will apply for your course online, please make sure you complete your application fully and include your full education history.
You must have submitted your application to study by 31 January 2026 to be considered for the scholarship. If you apply after this date, it is unlikely that you will have received your offer and managed to fulfil any conditions, in time to apply for the scholarship.
Our Admissions team will carefully assess your application to see if they are able to make you an offer to study. There are two kinds of offers you might receive:
If you are made a conditional offer, you need to work on meeting any conditions as soon as you receive the offer.
Your conditional offer might include providing proof of previous qualifications, or achieving a specified level of English Language proficiency.
The University will accept Duolingo to meet any English Language requirements, which is a cheaper and more accessible option. You’ll need a laptop, reliable internet connection and a private space to take the test.
We have a very limited number of vouchers for Duolingo tests, which we can provide in circumstances where students have compelling financial circumstances. Please contact us via [email protected] to discuss.
You must have met the terms of your conditional offer before moving onto Step 4.
Applications for the scholarship will open on 15 March 2026 and close on 1 May 2026.
Applications are made via our online application form, which will be available on this page from 1 April 2026. Please make sure your application is fully completed.
As part of your application, you will need to email proof of your status as a refugee or a person under Humanitarian Protection. Instructions on how to do this are included in the form, please not we cannot consider any applications where the candidate has not provided this proof.
Please do not complete the scholarship application unless you have received either an unconditional offer, or a conditional offer which you have now fulfilled; applicants who are not unconditional, or who have not met the terms of their offer will not be considered.
Due to the extremely high volume of applications we receive, we cannot acknowledge receipt of your application.
