University of Manchester Ted & Pat Smith Scholarship 2025

The Ted & Pat Smith Scholarship is offered by the University of Manchester in honor of Ted and Pat Smith, who were were warm friends of The University of Manchester. This scholarship supports undergraduates in engineering or science, and particularly wanted to help students studying in the field of materials science.

Benefits

Each recipient will receive an annual scholarship of £2,000 per year for up to four years of undergraduate study 

Requirements

The Ted and Pat Smith Scholarship is a merit-based award available to students who are: 

• entering Year 1 of a science or engineering degree; 
• from widening participation backgrounds. 

Selection Process

• Students within the Department of Materials are given preference in selection and allocation.  
• Eligible students will then be ranked on academic merit. 
• Scholarship holders will receive the scholarship annually, subject to satisfactory academic progress and performance.
