The University of Strathclyde is offering the Borders & Shires Scholarship, a one-time award of £2,812 to support tuition fees for the dissertation stage of the MSc in Genealogical, Palaeographic, and Heraldic Studies. Funded by an alumnus to promote academic-level genealogical research and honour family heritage, the scholarship prioritizes students with no access to other funding and shows preference for applicants from the United States. This scholarship is awarded annually and is open to full-time or part-time students who have completed the PG Diploma stage of the programme.

Requirements
The scholarship is open to students embarking on the dissertation level of the MSc in Genealogical, Palaeographic, and Heraldic Studies.
- students must have successfully completed the PG Diploma level of the MSc in Genealogical, Palaeographic, and Heraldic Studies by or in September of the current academic year
- there is a preference for residents of the United States of America
- applicants cannot be eligible for any other PGT scholarships listed on the University of Strathclyde website which would apply to the MSc in Genealogical, Palaeographic, and Heraldic Studies. Please note, this does not include the Emergency Aid Fund, the Housing Support Fund, the Lady Eileen McDonald EU & International Student Fund, or the Mature Students Hardship Fund
- applicants cannot be eligible for student funding through loans as listed on the University of Strathclyde funding website. If, after acceptance, other scholarships or fundings are granted, this scholarship will be revoked.
