University of Strathclyde Data Lab Scholarship for LLM Law, Technology & Innovation 2025

Four full tuition scholarships are available for LLM Law, Technology & Innovation for 2025/26 academic year. These scholarships are available to applicants ordinarily resident in Scotland or ordinarily resident in the UK and Islands throughout the three years immediately before joining these courses. These scholarships have been made possible with funding from the Data Lab and Scottish Funding Council.

The Data Lab Scholarship offers full tuition for the 2025/26 LLM in Law, Technology & Innovation, available to applicants ordinarily resident in Scotland or the UK and Islands for the past three years

Requirements

In order to be considered for a Data Lab Scholarship, candidates must:

  • Right to live and work in the UK AND whose ordinary place of residence has been in Scotland, the UK or Islands for at least three years (not in full-time education) holding an offer of admission for the LLM Law, Technology & Innovation in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences for 2025/26 academic year. If you normally live elsewhere and you've returned to the UK or Scotland to study, you may not be able to receive funding.
  • Hold, or be on track, to receive a minimum of a second-class undergraduate degree (or international equivalent)
  • Reference the 'Data Lab Scholarship' within the personal statement section of the application form

Terms and Conditions

  • Applicants must meet all of the above eligibility criteria to be considered for a Data Lab scholarship.
  • Applicants who have been awarded a scholarship will be notified by the Data Lab.
  • The awards are available for full time, on campus study only.
  • To receive their scholarship, awardees must enrol in the 2025/26 academic year and continue to meet all of the above eligibility criteria.
  • Applicants will be referred to the Data Lab who will make the final decision. 
  • Successful candidates will be selected on their statement of motivation on the application form.
  • Successful recipients are expected to engage with a programme of events with Data Lab and complete an online MOOC in Data Ethics, AI and Responsible Innovation as part of their studies. More information can be found on Data Lab website.
  • The Data Lab's decision on the awarding of the scholarships is final. Appeals will not be considered.

How To Apply

Please note, you can only apply for this scholarship if you are a student who has the right to live and work in the UK and whose ordinary place of residence has been in Scotland for at least three years (not in full-time education) and currently hold an offer of admission for the LLM Law, Technology & Innovation in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences for the 2025/26 academic year.

Applications should be made on the Data Lab website via the relevant form. As part of your personal statement you will be asked to include a 300 word statement to support your scholarship application.
