The University of Sussex is offering the Chancellor’s Masters Scholarship to First Class graduates from UK or Irish universities, including Sussex itself. With only 100 awards available, this scholarship supports students enrolling in eligible full-time or part-time Master’s courses beginning in September 2025. Selection is competitive.

£3,000 for applicants assessed as 'Home' for fees or £5,000 for applicants assessed as 'Overseas' for fees
Requirements
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- have studied a Bachelors (Hons) at a UK or Irish university and hold, or expect to achieve, a First Class Honours degree
- have accepted an offer of a place on an eligible full time or part time Masters course to start in September 2025
You are not eligible for this scholarship if you:
- are applying for a Masters at a university that is not at the University of Sussex
- are progressing into the final year of an integrated Masters at Sussex
- studied at a UK University’s overseas campus or external programme
- are already in receipt of the Sussex Alumni Scholarship (if you have also been assessed as 'Home' for fees)
- are studying one of the Excluded courses listed below:
- Certificates and Diplomas (including PGCE)
- Courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS)
- Courses at IDS
- Early Years Education (with Early Years Teacher status)
- Degrees in Social work (if receiving an NHS bursary)
- Online courses
- School direct teaching courses
- Masters funded by the research councils (e.g. ESRC 1+3 funding)
